Description

This is a simple video tutorial on how to adjust the clutch cable on a Harley-Davidson. Before making any adjustments, always first consult your Owners Manual.

NOTES:

  • The distance between your clutch lever housing and cable end should be 1/16 to 1/8 inch.
  • Turn the cable-adjuster counter-clockwise to add free play. Turn clockwise to remove free play.
  • Monthly: inspect your clutch cable for abrasion, cracks or binding. Lubricate as necessary.
  • Adjusting the clutch cable on a motorcycle is important because it ensures the cable will engage and disengage the clutch correctly. In this video I show you how to adjust the clutch cable on a 2009 Harley Davidson Softail Custom.
  • Always follow the Instruction in your repair manual when doing repair or maintenance work on a motorcycle.
